All Hallows Day Eve

Context

After graduating in 2019 I was approached by James (Jim) Lucas and asked to be the assistant director and business manager for a feature length horror film he wanted to film in Utah. The title was All Hallows Day Eve and it was a story of both morality and terror he had dreamed of making for over a decade.

In my role, I was in charge of many of the logistical tasks associated with a film: casting, crew, location, set dressings, video and lighting equipment, craft services, and scheduling, to name a few. During its’ two week shoot I made sure people ended up where they needed to be, helped set up shots, and assisted the director and Jim when an incident occurred that required rewriting the script.

After principal photography and pickup shoots, I created a teaser for the film we could publish while post-production was starting. At some point mid-edit Jim took the film and his script to a contact in the industry, and was told that he would need to rewrite it from the ground up for it to be economically viable. He chose to follow that advice, and put the project on ice.

The full film was never fully edited, so the only record of the film is the teaser and the raw footage.
